Dan Goronszy is a performer/designer exploring puppetry, circus and physical/gestural theatre for the past eight years. She has trained with ZenZenZo, Al Wunder, Circus Oz, Sydney Aerial Theatre Company and has an Adv Dip of Theatre Arts. She is a founding (2005) core member of Machination Theatre Ensemble, whose first three works, Fallen Sky, Destin and Kinder Transport were a huge success, appearing on the 2006, 2007, and 2008 VCE Drama Lists consecutively. She works with Polyglot Puppet Theatre as performer and workshop facilitator, including a recent tour of Muckheap to regional QLD(2008). Her collaborations with Barking Spider Visual Theatre began with Dispatch (2007), and then together with the Immigration Museum on Chinese Shadow Stories and Bunraku Baby(2008). In 2008 Dan was a resident puppeteer at Melbourne Museum in Hatching the Past. She teaches drama and puppets with Liminal Lines to youth at risk in the youth justice system. She founded Wind-up Beanstalk(2003) presenting roving shows at festivals. Highlights of the past year include; Community Creative Development residencies teaching puppetry in regional Western Australia as part of 2008 UNIMA Congress, and Taiwan’s Dream Community for 2007 Dream Parade, where she also performed at the Presidents Square in Taipei. Her skills extend to costume and set design and construction.
