Jessica Gatt has been a core member of Machination Theatre Ensemble since its conception in 2005. Within this time she has worked as a Company artist in the capacity of performer, choreographer and assistant director. Jessica is also the co-administrator for MTE, a position she has held for the last four years.
Her qualifications include an Adv Diploma in Theatre Arts as well as currently completing a BA in Contemporary Arts (Dance / Drama), specialising in physical and ensemble theatre.
Her roles as a performer within MTE include Faith, 'Kindertransport' - 2008, Nia, 'One Hundred' - 2007, Countess Seduction, 'Destin' - 2007 and Chloe, 'Fallen Sky' - 2006. She has also been involved with the Malthouse Education Program - '3D Festival' entering original works in 2005 & 2007 and receiving an award for 'best ensemble'. She has also performed for the festival, in 'proteozac and lilithium' which was selected as part of the top 5 finalists and offered her the opportunity to perform at the 'Merlin Theatre' at Malthouse. Other Highlights include performing at the launch of the 2006 Cultural Festival for the Commonwealth Games at ACMI, in conjunction with interactive visual artist Jemima Wyman.
Apart from performing, Jessica also works within the education system delivering workshops, specialised study units in dance and composition and as a choreographer for school productions, concerts and events. She has worked closely with Pascoe Vale Girls College in this capacity for over six years.
Jessica's skills also extend to Stage, FOH and Production Management as well as co developing (in conjunction with Megan Jones) the educational resources for our VCAA selected shows. Outside of theatre Jessica holds an interest in web design and has completed the design for this website!
