Jonathan trained at the National Theatre Drama School, graduating in 2005. He has been a Company Artist of Machination Theatre Ensemble since 2006, performing in the productions 'Fallen Sky', 'One Hundred' and 'Kindertransport'.
Jonathan has been active in the Melbourne Independent theatre scene since the late 1990's working with companies such as Eagle's Nest (Macbeth), Hoy Polloy (Conor McPherson's 'Shining City') , Here Theatre (Louis Esson's 'A time is not yet ripe', directed by Jane Woollard which won a Green Room award for best ensemble), Fly on the Wall ('The Object of Desire', directed by Robert Chuter), Gecko Actors' Co (Trudy Hellier's 'Blind Faith', directed by Helen Doig), and Otter Productions ('Macbeth', 'The Real Inspector Hound' and 'Twelfth Night'). Jonathan also appeared in the Short and Sweet Festival in 2006 and 2007, landing a Best Actor nomination, as well as in Nina Karol's production of Ale Broun's 'The Jacaranda Tree' at La Mama.
